Installations
Your project is unique which is why you will always receive a tailored solution designed to meet your specific requirements. For us, the only thing that should be ‘standard’ for all projects, is our quality-first, client centred process.
What does that mean?
It means we always:
- Carry out a comprehensive site survey.
- Establish your current and anticipated business needs.
- Ask you about your future plans to ensure we future-proof you wherever possible.
- Check your budget expectations.
This ensures that you receive an appropriate, accurately priced design allowing you to appoint us in confidence that the price we quote is the price you pay.
When you appoint the Sparkys & Hutch team for your commercial installation, alteration or addition, you will always receive the services of an experienced, qualified and DBS checked engineer. Work is completed in line with the latest electrical safety regulations including Building Regulations, Electricity Supply Regulations and Electricity at Work Regulations.
This is important because it means your works are always fully certified and you can prove compliance with statutory requirements.
On completion you will receive O&M manuals including ‘as wired’ drawings, full technical specifications plus any manufacturers manuals, guarantees and documentation.
Electrical Certification work
In order to comply with relevant regulations all electrical installations or alterations must be certified by an approved contractor. This may be either:
- Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC); or
- Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate.
All work completed by Sparkys & Hutch is fully certified for your peace of mind.
Top Tip
Your certificates are critical proof that, in the event of a fire, accident or incident, your work was completed to a satisfactory standard.
It’s important that you keep your certificates somewhere safe as it can be expensive to save costs in the future.
Planned maintenance & testing
Keeping on top of your planned maintenance and electrical testing is vital in order to satisfy your legal obligations, but also to keep your business running efficiently and reduce the expense of replacing poorly maintained equipment.
However, it’s also important that this routine work doesn’t cause excessive disruption to your business. Our engineers are quick, tidy and respectful of not interrupting your day-to-day work. Appointments can be arranged for a time that suits you and your business.
All maintenance and testing carried out by the Sparkys & Hutch team is backed by an EICR (Electrical Inspection Condition Report) for your records. Along with your report, you will receive a fixed price quote for any remedial work that is identified during maintenance and testing.
As you would expect, PAT testing services include labelling of equipment to provide easy identification that your portable appliances have been checked and are safe to use.
Please ask about our planned maintenance service which means you don’t have to remember to book it – we will notify you when your next appointment is due.

It is important that you have confidence in the quote you receive from us and that is why a free site-survey is carried out as part of the quotation process. During the site survey we will ask questions about your current and anticipated future requirements and may suggest other things you could consider, based on our knowledge and experience.
This allows us to price the work accurately.
